Tanith has been interested in video games and the Internet for longer than is probably healthy. His first console was the NES, complete with Super Mario Bros., and he has fond memories of many hours spent hacking his way through all 100 chambers of Gauntlet. His first PC shooter was ID’s Wolfensteing 3D, followed closely by the original MechWarrior. He didn’t get into Strategy and RTS games until high school, where Trippenbach introduced him to both Civilization and Warcraft. It’s all gone downhill from there. His list of favourite games ever includes, in no particular order:
-
Deus Ex
-
TIE Fighter
-
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
-
GoldenEye 007
-
Half-Life
-
Halo
-
Fallout 1&2
-
Final Fantasy III/VI
-
Sid Meier’s Pirates!
-
Railroad Tycoon
-
Civilization (series)
-
Total War (series)
-
Homeworld
-
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
and a ton of others he’ll only remember later, or after someone else mentions them.
On the professional front, Tanith gets by as an administrative assistant at an independent financial services firm in downtown Montreal. He has a desk near a seventeenth-storey window through which he can see Montreal’s famous McGill University campus, and the bold, fearless lines of the buildings that adorn the nearby slope of Mount Royal instill a strange sense of comfort and hope on otherwise dreary days. Despite the fine view, he is actively looking for a new job.
He lives with his girlfriend, Saine, in a suburb of Montreal. They are planning a trip to Australia later this year, which is going to be awesome.
