So much for the right of the people…

… to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures.

This decision by the US Supreme Court is at once being praised as progressive and lambasted as unconstitutional. The problem as I see it is not so much the issue of probable cause (which police officers are generally well qualified to identify) but the question of how to judge what constitutes “limited scope” in the context of a snap decision to conduct a roadside search. 1. This is great. Today, searches, tommorow - krytocracy.

I actually found that aclu vid informative. Badly acted, but reasonably good overall. I give it a 3.5 out of 5: not bad.
