That said, it does look a bit flimsy, and was it detaching the magazine every time it was closed? Is that a potential jamming problem?
Also, I assume you could only market this in a state where it’s already legal to carry concealed, so what’s the point? You could pull a glock out of a holster at about the same speed.
The look-cool factor is way up there, though, and the shock value is undeniable.
I guess the idea is that with this system, you’ve got a forward grip and a stock which should provide more stability and accuracy when the weapon is rocking.
After watching the video again, it doesn’t look like the mag was detaching, though the demonstrator does have to fiddle with a piece to get the unit to fold up properly. I suppose that inconvenience isn’t considered serious, since if you’re folding it up, you clearly don’t need it anymore.
I suppose a unit like this would be interesting to law enforcement (for under-cover operations) or intelligence services.
Well, the pistol grip does fold in when the system folds up, which means that the magazine is detached from the receiver.
Also: why was I thinking of legal applications? how silly of me!
…in an unrelated side note, I was not aware of just how much our man Togusa’s pistol was based on something that already exists. Botht the Mateba and this glock would make nice additions to an FT campaign.
Oh, I see what you mean now. Yes, I guess if the grip didn’t lock into place properly, or if you started mashing the trigger too quickly you could jam the thing and finish with an easily-to-conceal club/flashlight.
Heh, neat - reminds me of the briefcase guns in GitS.
The casing looks kinda cheap - can it handle the stress of automatic fire without coming apart?
…or the legendary laptop gun from perfect dark.
